11. Meat pie
Meat pie is the bakery snack that also lives on the road. A flaky crust holds minced meat, potato, and carrot, seasoned simply and baked until the top is brown. You buy it from a glass case or from a hawker with a tray on her head. One pie and a cold drink is a full snack between meetings. The crust should flake, not bend like rubber. The filling should be moist, not dry.
